Pre-Game: Mets vs. Padres 10:05 PM

The New York Mets will continue their series against the San Diego Padres tonight at Petco Park. The Mets won last night in the 10th inning beating the Padres 5-4. The Mets were able to get the ball to closer Jason Isringhausen as he picked up his 300th save of his career. The Mets were finally able to snap a five game losing streak. Tonight they will look to play the same way, but better. If they can do that they will win the game again.
Jon Niese will start for the Mets trying to match his last start. Niese went 7.2 innings allowing two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts. The Mets were unable to score many runs in this game and Niese would be charged with the lost. He really pitched well and was unable to get any results from his great start. He should be able to have the same type of game and get the Mets a win this time.
Cory Luebke will start for the Padres as he looks to pick up a win. Luebke started for the Padres last Thursday against the Mets. He was charged with a no decision as he went five innings allowing two runs on three hits. He was able to get out of jams as he struggled with his command. He walked four batters and struck out eight batters. If he pitches the way he did in his last start, he will lose the game.
The Mets have to be excited about Lucas Duda who has homered in consecutive games for the Mets. He is swinging the bat really well and playing nice defense at first base. He may be the leader in homeruns for the Mets before the season is out. If he can find the consistency to hit the long ball, he will easily be a key part to the Mets roster next season.
