The Knicks lost tonight to the Bulls after they were able to beat them on Sunday afternoon. This game was very bad in the aspect that the Knicks were never able to find consistent offense. Carmelo Anthony was the only effective offensive player for the Knicks in this game. Anthony scored 29 points tonight and was the only good thing on offense for the Knicks.
Tonight the Knicks bench showed that they are still struggling and the only player to have an impact off the bench was JR Smith. He scored 14 points, but struggled on the defensive end to keep up with Kyle Korver in the fourth quarter. He plays really hard, but at times can get the best of himself.
Baron Davis and Toney Douglas had a tough go of things tonight. Davis had four turnovers, but was able to get 6 assists and 8 points. He turned the ball over in key moments for the Knicks which allowed the Bulls to get another possession. In his six minutes on the floor Douglas struggled to run the offense effectively. Tonight he looked to shoot the ball every time down and never really looked to get his teammates involved. In the game against the Orlando Magic Douglas seemed to be more of a point guard and had success. The key for him is just stay focused on getting the team involved and worry less about his shot.
This lost really stings because the Knicks are now in the 8th spot in the eastern conference. And a loss to the Bucks tomorrow will make getting to the playoffs much harder. The Knicks lost tonight, but have the opportunity to respond against the Bucks in a very big game for both teams. Tonight the Knicks failed to run an efficient offense which led to a very unsuccessful night.
